Episode 03: The Secret Place

It’s hard to find a Psalm more relevant to our day than Psalm 91. Written during a pandemic, this passage offers incredible encouragement for us today. In this episode of Tuesdays with Tina we will soak in the promises of God found in this Psalm, finding powerful assurances of his protection when fear and death surround us.

When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High, our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm.

Psalm 91:9-10 (TPT)

Just like an eagle spreads its wings over its nest to protect its young, the Lord protects us when we abide in His shadow. In this “secret place” we can decree the promises of God in worship through song or simply speaking his word out loud and further stir our faith and trust in Him.

This teaching wraps up with one of my new songs, Secret Place. I hope you will join me in worship. You can view the lyrics to the songs from this video below to follow along.

Lord Prepare Me
by Tina Wurschmidt

Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary
filled with the glory of God (x2)

Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary
within your heart, within Your heart (x2)

I wanna be one in You (x2)

Lord prepare me to be hidden in You
  resting in your arms (x2)

Lord prepare me as I’m hidden in You
sharing your goodness oh God (x2)
SECRET PLACE
by Tina Wurschmidt | Download

Here I sit in that secret place
  resting in my Savior's arms
I'm broken yet I'm welcome by your grace
  you have overcome the dark

And we will fly like eagles
and we will go to the Holy Place
And we will fly like eagles
and see you face to face

I want to know you more
  even as I'm known
In the stillness before
  your holy throne

Holy, holy, holy
  Holy are You Lord (x2)

Here I sit in the secret place
  resting in my Savior's arms

Thank you so much for joining me today. We’ll wrap up Psalm 91 next week, and then will move on to an exciting new topic. Stay tuned!

Episode 02: The Coming of the Bridegroom, Part II

Will you have your own oil? In this week’s episode we explore what that means within the parable of the ten virgins from Matthew 25:1-13. We’ll dig in verse-by-verse to uncover what the oil is, how we get it, and—ultimately—what we truly need to be prepared for the coming of the bridegroom.

I’ll also share a follow up story of my young granddaughter who prophesied about a wedding with Jesus. I was struck by the sobering truth she shared, pointing back to this story in such a powerful way.

The episode wraps up today with my song, Healing Oil. Turn on the closed captions to view the lyrics and please join me in worship from your home. You can also download a recording of this song from my album here.

I encourage you this week: get your own oil—that oil of intimacy with Jesus. May your lamps be full so that when Jesus comes back for his bride you are ready to enter into the wedding banquet.

Episode 01: The Coming of the Bridegroom

It’s here! Today marks the first episode of Tuesdays with Tina, my new video series where I share scripture teachings, stories, and testimonies of God’s faithfulness. I am so excited to share today’s teaching with you based on the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:113.

We’ll look at this passage together through the lens of the cultural time period to better understand where this parable is set, the context of the Jewish marriage covenant, and how it all points back to Jesus our heavenly bridegroom. I’ll also share some special stories of how this parable has impacted my own life and the lives of those around me.

Then suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by the shout ‘Get up! The bridegroom is here! Come out and have an encounter with him!’

Matthew 25:6 (TPT)

I hope this message blesses you and that you will take time this week to meditate on Matthew 25 verse by verse. We’ll dive in deeper to the parable of the wise and foolish virgins next week. Plus, I’ll be sharing a powerful song that the Lord gave me that brings the whole message together.

The book referenced in this episode is: The Midnight Cry: Prophetic Perceptions for 2018-2020, by Jon & Jolene Hamill.

Please subscribe and share, and I hope you’ll join me again next week!

Matthew 25:1-14
The Passion Translation (TPT)

“When my coming draws near, heaven’s kingdom realm can be compared to ten maidens who took their oil lamps and went outside to meet the bridegroom and his bride.[a] 2–4 Five of them were foolish and ill-prepared, for they took no extra oil[b] for their lamps. Five of them were wise, for they took flasks of olive oil with their lamps. 5 When the bridegroom didn’t come when they expected, they all grew drowsy and fell asleep. 6 Then suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by the shout ‘Get up! The bridegroom is here! Come out and have an encounter with him!’[c] 7 So all the girls got up and trimmed their lamps. 8 But the foolish ones were running out of oil, so they said to the five wise ones, ‘Share your oil with us, because our lamps are going out!’

9 “ ‘We can’t,’ they replied. ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. You’ll have to go and buy some for yourselves!’

10 “While the five girls were out buying oil, the bridegroom appeared. Those who were ready and waiting were escorted inside with him and the wedding party to enjoy the feast. And then the door was locked. 11 Later, the five foolish girls came running up to the door and pleaded, ‘Lord, Lord, let us come in!’

12 “But he called back, ‘Go away! Do I know you? I can assure you, I don’t even know you!’

13 “That is the reason you should always stay awake and be alert, because you don’t know the day or the hour when the Bridegroom will appear.”[d]
